Parallel – Young Adults

Are you a young adult that would enjoy being part of a community that will walk with you on this journey called life? A community where questions are encouraged, relationships are cherished, laughter is a must, and life can be lived out?

Look no further. Parallel is a young adult (ages 18-35) community that will explore issues that we all face and discuss practical approaches that will make a positive impact on life. If you are ready to investigate how to ignite the presence of Christ in you as well as in all aspects of your life, come and join us this Tuesday (and feel free to bring a friend!).

If you have any questions or would like some additional information, please contact Sharon Lewis at (804) 263-2281 or via email at hehasaplan2911@gmail.com.

Harvest Youth – ages 13-18

The Harvest Youth group meets every Sunday at the church from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and is available to all interested teenagers (13-18).

On a typical Sunday we will usually play a variety of games for the first hour or so of the group. Then we transition to a lesson provided by Youth Pastor Mark Blowers. Light snacks are usually provided, and on the first Sunday of every month we meet at a nearby restaurant during lesson time.

The youth room contains board games, video games, a ping-pong table, and the popular chalkboard wall where youth can draw or write. In addition to Sunday afternoons, the youth go on extra outings at various times throughout the year. Some examples of things we have done in the past are bowling, laser tag, scavenger hunts, lock-ins, youth conferences, and Christian music concerts.

If you are interested in getting more information about this group please feel free to contact Mark Blowers at mark@harmonyvineyardchurch.com or at (804) 922-3092.

Kidz for Christ – ages 6-12

The mission of Kidz for Christ is to provide a safe and fun environment for kids to learn about Jesus.

At Kidz for Christ we play games, do arts and crafts, worship, pray, and have short, simple Bible lessons. There are also some additional activities throughout the year including trips to the zoo, laser tag and seasonal celebrations. Parental permission slips are required for any of these outside activities.

Kidz for Christ occurs every Friday night from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. During this time parents are welcome to stay and observe or to use the time for some kid-free shopping or dining at nearby Virginia Center Commons.

For further information please feel free to contact André Broughan at (518) 817-3475 or via email at thebroughans@hotmail.com.

Our way of doing church.

Psalm 25:12 says, “Who are they that fear the LORD? He will teach them the way that they should choose.

The Harmony Vineyard Way is the way we have chosen to be the church. It consists of six principles that guide us as we walk out our journey of faith together

  • Identity:  We are a family who desires God’s will for our lives. We choose to live out of our true identity as a beloved son or daughter of God and seek to replace our will with His, knowing that the Father always gives good gifts to His children.
  • Mission:  Our mission is to make disciples. We believe that the best way to do so is by practicing a “naturally supernatural” lifestyle, obeying the words of Jesus and doing the works of Jesus.  We actively look for ways to reach out to our neighbors and our community.
  • Growth:  We understand that our personal growth comes through regular study of God’s word and through relationships with other believers. We embrace small groups as our primary means of growing in grace and connecting with each other.
  • Diversity:  We are committed to ethnic diversity. We believe all churches, and specifically our church family, should consist of people from every nation, tribe, and people – God’s picture of the church in the Book of Revelation.
  • Unity:  Together, as a family, we will laugh, cry, struggle, succeed, disagree, and reconcile –– and in all things give glory to God, who unites us in our faith.
  • Truth:  Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. –Colossians 3:14 (NRSV)
